Let's move out of Ho Chi Minh City !! Our next destination - Halong Bay
Here we will cover Halong Bay's food and Night Life ||
Hạ Long Bay, in northeast Vietnam, is known for its emerald waters and thousands of towering limestone islands topped by rainforests. Junk boat tours and sea kayak expeditions take visitors past islands named for their shapes, including Stone Dog and Teapot islets. The region is popular for scuba diving, rock climbing and hiking, particularly in mountainous Cát Bà National Park.
Vinpearl Resort & Spa Ha Long
Vinpearl Resort & Spa Ha Long is the first and largest 5-star resort in North Vietnam. Located on a private island by the white sands of Bai Chay, the resort offers spectacular 360° views of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The bow-shaped design is reminiscent of the Opera House in the French city of Rennes, embracing the glorious island setting with an invitingly relaxing contemporary beachfront stay with extraordinary facilities.
Halong Bay Cuisine
Whenever visiting any tourism destination in any country in the world, most travellers spend a considerable amount of time enjoying the wild wonders of cuisines there. Travellers to Halong Bay are no exception, and for a good reason. There is so much incredible gastronomy at this charming Bay, for foodies and newcomers alike.Favoured with the gifts of Mother Nature, Halong is famous for its variety of fresh and delicious seafood like crab, prawn, squid and snail as well as plenty of Vietnamese traditional foods.
1.Cha Muc (Squid Sausage) Cha Muc is the most famous food of Quang Ninh and also in the top fifty specialties of Vietnam. The main ingredient of Cha Muc, of course, is squid. The crunchy and delicate texture of this specific variety of squid, and the juicy flavour and attractive aroma of this dish goes perfectly well with Xôi (boiled rice, sticky rice) or Bánh Cuốn (a type of thin, steamed rice cake). This beautiful piece of culinary mastery is sold at many stores and especially at Halong Market.
The best restaurant to enjoy this delicacy:
Cua Vang Restaurant: Located at 32 Phan Chu Trinh Street
Bai Chay Ward & Lang Chai Halong Restaurant: Located at Hoang Quoc Viet Street, Bai Chay Ward.
2.Banh gat gu Banh gat gu is made from steaming rice flour mixture. When you eat it, the cake is dipped in a special sauce, along with a piece of caramelised pork. This sauce is really a star of this dish. You having an average or amazing experience with this food all depends on the sauce. The feeling of cool, soft cake and juicy pork is an enchanting culinary experience. The best places to eat it are Ba Tuyet restaurant: No. 32 Hoa Binh Street, Tien Yen Town & markets in Halong Bay.
In the next post we will discover all the party places and then move on to another jewel in the crown city - Hanoi !!
