Aren't you tired of reading articles that talk about affordable destinations but only as per USD or Euros?
At The Travel Bug, we get it. Which is why we've come up with our own list, one that even Indians will find useful.
Yes, as an Indian, you too, can do international trips without burning a hole in your pocket!
Without further ado, here's a bunch of places you can tick off of your list!
P.S. We've got awesome packages starting at INR 15000 for all the destinations mentioned below.
1. Sri Lanka
Our island neighbour, formerly known as Ceylon, may be a small nation but it has such rich culture and history it'd be wrong to exclude it from our list.
Sri Lanka is a gem that is yet to be explored by the world.
With pristine beaches, marine life, many friendly elephants, ancient ruins, beautiful temples, lush green tea plantations, awesome train rides, welcoming people and delectable food all at affordable prices, Sri Lanka is all set to be the next big destination.
Sri Lanka, to us, feels like home away from home, this is all thanks to the warm and welcoming Sinhalese. They make you feel like you've always been a part of their people.
A few experiences that stand out from the rest and our personal favourites are the scenic Nuwara Eliya Train Ride, the grand Temple of The Tooth Festival and the miraculous Sigriya/Lion Rock.
Each part of this small country has something different to offer.
A trip to Sri Lanka is one of the most fulfilling experiences you'll ever have!
2. Bali
Bali's got scenic rice paddies, gorgeous coral reefs, endless beaches and majestic volcanic mountains.
It's affordable, beautiful, different. We have fallen in love with the beautiful Villas in Bali.
You could surf in the morning, attend a spiritual lecture in the afternoon and experience the vibrant nightlife later.
Bali has it's own historic culture but now there's also a happy hippie culture, something that is unique to Bali.
That is why people from all over the world flock to this amazing island in Indonesia.
On our trip we interacted with the locals and they are some of the simplest people we've ever met.
If you're a fan of Julia Roberts like us, you'd love to know that there are full-fledged Eat Pray Love day tours too!
3. Dubai
Dubai is where the world meets.
The formation of this city was nothing short of a miracle. With architectural wonders that have inspired a generation of modern-day architects, massive malls that go beyond one's imaginations, technology that can compete with the Japanese and Germans and infrastructure that is considered to be the best in the world, this is a city every person of the 21st century should visit.
Whether it's food, fashion, jewellery, automobiles or nightlife, Dubai offers the best possible versions of each of these things.
We think that a trip to Dubai is good enough to give you a taste of what the future could be like.
4. Thailand
Thailand, the land of smiles, has been popular among Indians for many reasons, nightlife, beaches, food, shopping, nature, people business and culture. This country takes pride in their hospitality.
In Thailand, you are always welcome.
It's a great destination for families, couples, friends, women and solo travellers. Thailand has such a wide variety of activities that you could spend a year here and it still wouldn't be enough.
At The Travel Bug, our guys love their food, beaches and most of all, the people.
The Thai are courteous folk and this is what will make you want to return to this tropical gem.
5. Malaysia
Malaysia, truly Asia. Nothing else would describe it better. Malaysia is full of natural wonders. The Malay people are known have a unique connect with nature.
In the 130 million year old Malaysian rainforests you can find some of the rarest, unique plant and animal species, like the world's biggest flower, Rafflesia.
With the Chinese, the aboriginal tribes and immigrants from other Asian nations, Malaysia is a multi-cultural nation with varied cultural experiences to offer.
This gave rise to unique marketplaces called hawkers centres. We found it impossible to not fall in love with the food these simple yet bustling hawkers’ marts.
Whether you're seeking adventure or looking to relax and rejuvenate, Malaysia has something for everyone.
A trip to Malaysia will allow you to connect with nature and with yourself like never before!
