Udaipur, has a lot of things to do and a lot of places to visit. By sitting on the banks of lake Fateh Sagar or Lake Pichola is peaceful and rejuvenating.

The City Palace:
One of the architectural marvels and located on the banks of Lake Pichola, was home to the Royal family, a part of which still serves as home to the descendants of the Mewar dynasty.
Most of the Palace is open for public viewing, and it also houses a hotel namely, Fateh Prakash Palace.
The current royal family also operates a group chain of hotels namely, HRH Group of Hotels and Fateh Prakash is a part of this group.
Fateh Prakash Palace hotel, is a living history of the legacy of the Mewari dynasty. The hotel has done extreme justice and the rooms are decorated with original paintings other artefacts from the era of the kingdom.
Further equipped with the finest dining rooms it hosts a couple of restaurants like the:
Sunset Café, and Surya Darshan Bar.
Similar to Fateh Prakash Palace, The City Palace also houses one more jewel in the crown called Shiv Niwas Palace.
Shiv Niwas houses the following restaurants:
Paantya – a multi cuisine restaurant; The Pool Deck – for a romantic candle lit dinner, Panera Bar – rich with its authentic glass inlay work and Palki Khana – is a European style café.
Because of the surge in the tourist influx, Udaipur now houses several hotels and restaurants. Most of the hotels and restaurants are designed keeping in mind the architectural significance of Udaipur. As a matter of fact, many houses also sport similar significances.

The Leela Palace, The Oberoi Udai Vilas and Taj Lake Palace
Taj Lake Palace, situated in the midst of Lake Pichola was originally known as Jag Niwas, is built on a existing Palace built in 1746. This hotel is a resident only hotel and outsiders are not allowed even just to dine.
The magnificent Grand Presidential Suite, also known as Shambhu Prakash suite named after Maharana Shambhu Singhi, is a 1734 sq ft spread architectural marvel and costs approx. INR 8,00,000.00 per night
The average price per night in the Leela Palace is approx INR 50,000.00 per night.
The Oberoi Udai Vilas will cost you approx INR 66,000.00 per night.
There are many other decent affordable hotels in Udaipur located within the city limits and also offer a great view, just a name a few – Hotel Hilltop, Hotel Lakend, Bhairav Garh Palace, Hotel Ramada and Lalit Laxmi Vilas.
